Joe Zeszotarski has been admitted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in North America. Founded in 1950, the College is composed of the best of the trial bar in North America and Canada. Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation only and only after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers of diverse backgrounds, who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Lawyers must have a minimum of fifteen years trial experience before they can be considered for Fellowship. Membership in the College does not exceed one percent of the total lawyer population of any state of province.
The induction ceremony at which Joe became a Fellow took place before an audience of 900 persons during the 2017 Annual Meeting of the College in Montreal, Quebec.
Joe Zeszotarski was named the Best Lawyers® 2017 Criminal Defense: General Practice "Lawyer of the Year" for the Raleigh area. Only a single lawyer in each practice area is honored as the "Lawyer of the Year."

Josh Howard and Joe Zeszotarski were named to North Carolina Super Lawyers Magazine for 2016 in the area of Criminal Defense: White Collar. Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Each year, fewer than 5% of practicing lawyers within a state receive Super Lawyer recognition. Super Lawyers determines their selections through a patented process consisting of independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of the state's top attorneys.
After two and a half years serving on the State Board of Elections, Chairman Josh Howard will step down effective January 1, 2016. Since announcing his resignation, the News & Observer published that Howard “established a reputation for independence on the elections board.” WRAL noted that Howard has been “widely respected by Republicans and Democrats alike.” Governor McCrory will now choose an appointee to serve the remainder of the term.
